Jancis R’s note from back in 2004:
Mid crimson and slightly grey. Very sweet and round and slightly raisiny. Slight rustic edge but very ripe and round and lively with a certain freshness and punch. Long and powerful. Looking good for the future, A confident wine.
Some much more recent notes from Cellartracker:

Wow, whaddaya know, a vintage Port that’s ready to drink. Snarkiness aside, this wine, which had been double decanted for sediment a few hours prior to service, was showing in fine, graceful form, with a seamless blend of secondary, and even some early tertiary. Medium>Med+ body, with plenty of fresh acidity. Again, even if this can still go some more, it’s elegant as hell now, and not showing the grape-y, raisin-y, sweet stuff, so I say dig in. recommended

Election day party at Chateau Davyd. Pop and poured. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance deep intensity, garnet colour. Long legs.
Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of mushrooms, earth, tea leaves, ash, smoky lapsang suchong, oxidative elements. Developed.
On the palate, medium sweet, high acidity, high alcohol (20%), fine fully integrated tannins, full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of mushroomy earth, smoke, tea leaves, dried red cherries. Long finish.
I like it. Biased for mushrooms. Oxidative elements present already so not for further ageing for sure. Drink and enjoy.
