Wonderful clear amber colour; a lifted nose of orange and burnt toffee, and with such lightness; taste= what a wonderfully balanced wine. The sugar has been entirely absorbed into the fabric of the wine, so that the flavours appear almost understated. But this is the understatement of balance, a balance of fruit and acidity that has taken two generations to achieve.
I can think of Sauternes that are greater in depth and complexity, but we should respect perfection when it is achieved by “lesser” wines.

Clear light amber colour. Medium light intense nose, roasted pineapple, lemon curd and spice nose. Delicious spicy orange and lemon flavours in a lighter not too rich style.
A very nice Sauternes but not rich and sweet but very elegant and delicious.

Last contributor obviously had a slightly off bottle. This was sensational. Golden, completely balanced, unctuous, very long and correct. Will keep for years, but glorious now. Delicious.
