Canon de Brem is a very reliable producer from the underappreciated right bank appellation of Canon-Fronsac, rated in the top tier of “Excellent” producers in Parker’s Bordeaux book. The wine style is traditional and benefits from medium term ageing. In a great vintage like 2000, it should still be drinking very well, as suggested by the two most recent Cellartracker notes:

Very much better than my last bottle three years ago. Beginning to get into its stride. 10 more to go………

Surprisingly fresh. Tannins fully integrated giving it an almost silky feel and still providing decent weight. Plenty of red and black fruit with some oak and a bit of earth. Very pleasant, last bottle gone – held to see if it would keep going and in may ways I wish I’d held a couple more back.
