Jancis R’s early note from 2007:
“Cask sample. Deep and purplish. Sweet dusty white peppered fruit. Great backbone of fine sandy tannins, dark fruit, waiting to explode. Powerful without show. Very very good. Julia Harding MW”
A very recent note from Cellartracker:

Much darker in colour than Bruno Clair’s 2002 Chambertin Clos de Beze tasted alongside. Glossy core with hints of discolouration around the edges. Expressive and very attractive nose, dark fruit mostly, spices, earth, minerality. On the palate more restrained – powerful tannins, lots of fruit underneath, good acidity. Long and intense finish. Well balanced, but needs time. 92-93+
