Deep garnet-black with a hint of brick, the 2006 Hillside Shiraz has pronounced notes of smoked game, hung meat, dried plums and kirsch, some cigar boxes, Chinese five spice and mocha. Structured, rich, very full and opulent on the palate is has a medium-firm level of rounded tannins and a long spicy finish. Drinking beautifully now, it has some potential to evolve further and should cellar to 2019+.

Delicious. Packs one heck of a punch in terms of flavour and despite its 15.5% (!!!!) doesn’t feel too alcoholic until you wake up the next day
Holding up well and will continue drinking well for a good few years yet.

Gifted a single bottle by a friend , immediately filled the room with a glorious aroma that tempted me with what lay in wait …, no disappointment followed rest assured , luscious mouthful of blackcurrant and pepper, thick and viscous , a true beauty.

Classic old school Oz shiraz, plenty of sweet blackberry and blueberry fruit, some spicy liquorice, delicious!
