Quite a lot of development at the rim and a tinge of tea-leaf at the core. A warming welcoming nose – cloves and orange peel and plums. Cranberry fruit with a little nub of spiky acidity which gives the wine a rather snappy profile and a crackle in the mouth. There is palate weight here without any fat. Christmas spices and dried fruit giving depth, with just the merest tannins, like a tap on the reins. Somehow snug, and a wine that makes me think of a big open-hearth fireplace and roasting chestnuts. JancisRobinson
