Chateau Caronne Ste Gemme excelled in 2010,which together with 2009,was a brilliant vintage for Cru Bourgeois wines:-
“Aromas of plums, wet earth, and minerals follow through to a full-body,with velvety tannins that are polished and clean.I like the walnut and fruity character in a subtle and reserved way.Needs at least five or six years to come together.Very fine indeed”.
Janes Suckling. (JamesSuckling.com February 2013).
“Supple tannins and attractive camphor, mulberry, black currant, and dusty, earthy notes are present in this full-bodied,legitimate sleeper of the vintage. The purity, texture, pure charm and depth of this wine are impressive.Drink it over the next 10-15 years,This beauty from Francois Nony is a two-third blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot with a touch of Petit Verdot”.
Robert Parker. (The Wine Advocate. February 2013).
“Quite fragrant and quite classy Cabernet nose of black fruits, fine impression of ripeness on the palate with oak present, but blending in very good tannins for the future,a fine, elegant wine, very classy and very good”.
Stephen Spurrier. (Decanter Tasting of 2010 Cru Bourgeois. March 2014).
In an earlier Tasting by Decanter Magazine of Bordeaux Cru Bourgeois 2010 wines,Chateau Caronne Ste Gemme 2010 was adjudged 2nd equal in order of quality out of 166 wines tasted. The tasting notes were as follows:-
