“Situated on the plateau west of Saint-Émilion, Clos des Menuts is a 61-acre property. This structured wine with its dense tannins also has bright fruits and the potential for a fresher, juicy black-fruited side. At the moment, the bitter toast and dry tannins dominate,so give it until 2019”.

The most recent tasting note on the 2010 Clos des Menuts on Cellartracker:-
“Smells like a dusty barn, yet subtle. Gorgeous balance and smooth texture. Still has some tannic pucker but very ripe raspberry and good acid. I’m drinking it on its own with only 10 minute decant. Would compliment a meal nicely too. Glad I waited on this — and I believe it’s another stellar example of 2010 Bordeaux’s awesome vintage”.

The 2010 Clos des Menuts is a round,full-bodied wine, crafted with care from vines close to the walls of the famous medieval town, with 85% Merlot,10% Cabernet Sauvignon,5% Cabernet Franc. The terroir is clay-limestone and sand-and-clay soil over a hard pan and iron-dross subsoil allowing excellent drainage. The 2010 is not only a good wine to lay down, but as from now should be drinking well, especially accompanied by red meat, poultry, game or cheese.
