Elio Grasso is best known for a range of stunning Barolo cuvees, but they have also produced this delicious Chardonnay since 1990, in small quantities of about 7000 bottles a year. The wine is aged in French oak barriques for 7 months prior to bottling.
Notes on CT give a good sense of the style:

A rare experience for me: an Italian chard.
On nose: Fresh pears, vanilla and oak spice.
On palate : A follow through of the above, coupled with faint citrus and cooked cabbage ( in a good way) flavours….still quite young and has a light body…. . hopefully it will knit up and the oak won’t overpower the fruit as it ages.

Good weight, nice fruit, quite pure with lots of minerality. Good lift and great length, mineral finish. Very good. 90-92

Not really my style but an appreciated effort. More mineral and acidity than buttery. Certainly more viscous than I was expecting. Legs on glass emerged almost 5 seconds after a swirl. Interesting and perhaps just needs more age.
